Did a ASD ( atrial septal defect) and VSD ( ventricular septal defect) non surgical device closure in a 3 year old child with recurrent chest infection. Holes in heart can be closed non surgically with next day discharge.

26 days old neonate with difficulty in breathing, on echo was diagnosed to be having COA ( Coarctation of Aorta) meaning our main artery Aorta was narrow at one point. This was dilated with a balloon post which obstruction was relieved. Baby cardiac function improved and became asymptomatic.

Apart from routine Pediatric cardiac intervention did an interesting case. A 3 year old child with failure to thrive had a large Aorto Cameral fistula ( abnormal communication between aorta and right atrium) leading to right heart dilatation. This was closed with a vascular plug and the patient was discharged the next day. On follow up patient was asymptomatic. Aorta cameral fistula is a rare entity, most of them are asymptomatic but larger ones are symptomatic in childhood.
