Patient Experience – Amar Hospital, Mohali**
Patient Roop Chand, a 76-year-old resident of Sarkaghat, was admitted to Amar Hospital, Mohali with complaints of pain in the mouth and abdominal pain. After detailed clinical evaluation, laboratory investigations, and imaging, he was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the oral cavity (right lower alveolar region), Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, gastric perforation with peritonitis, and right-sided hydropneumothorax.
Considering the seriousness of his condition, Dr. Puneet Garg advised immediate surgical intervention. The patient underwent EUA + Right Composite Resection + Right Modified Neck Dissection (MND) with PMMC flap reconstruction on 30 November 2025. Subsequently, due to gastric perforation, an Exploratory Laparotomy with Adhesiolysis and Primary Repair of Gastric Perforation with Graham Patch under General Anesthesia** was successfully performed on 4 December 2025.
At present, the patient’s condition is stable and improving well. Throughout the course of treatment, the doctors, nursing staff, and support team at Amar Hospital demonstrated exceptional professionalism, prompt decision-making, and compassionate care. The attending doctors explained the patient’s condition and treatment plan clearly, ensuring that the family was well-informed and reassured at every step.
