Discover the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda! According to this traditional Indian system of medicine, there are three fundamental energies or doshas that govern our body and mind: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
💨 VATA (Air + Space Element)
Vata represents movement and is composed of air and space elements. People with dominant Vata tend to be thin, energetic, creative, and quick-thinking. They may experience dry skin, feel cold easily, and have variable digestion. When balanced, they're enthusiastic and flexible, but imbalance can lead to anxiety and restlessness.
🔥 PITTA (Fire + Water Element)
Pitta governs transformation and metabolism. Pitta-dominant individuals typically have a medium build, warm body temperature, and strong digestion. They're organized, focused, and natural leaders. When balanced, they're intelligent and confident, but excess Pitta can manifest as irritability and inflammation.
🌊 KAPHA (Earth + Water Element)
Kapha provides structure and stability. Those with predominant Kapha tend to have a sturdy build, smooth skin, and calm demeanor. They're patient, supportive, and grounded. Balanced Kapha brings strength and endurance, while imbalance may lead to sluggishness and weight gain.

According to Ayurveda, winter (Hemant and Shishir Ritu) is when our body's strength and digestive power are at their peak. But without proper care, Dosa imbalance can lead to health issues in the coming spring season.

🔸 What to eat in winter: Grains and pulses (rice, millet, urad dal with ghee), oils and seeds (sesame oil consumption,Sesame laddus), sweet substances (jaggery, sugarcane), and dairy products (fresh butter and milk consumption)
🔸 What to avoid: Bitter, sour, and astringent foods; light and cold foods that increase Vata;
🔸 Lifestyle practices: Daily oil massage (calms Vata and provides warmth), regular physical exercise (body strength is highest in winter - take full advantage!), and consume warm, unctuous, and nourishing foods
