Cardiac Arrest vs Cardiac (Heart) Attack vs Cardiac (Heart) Failure
People doing Gym are dying
People doing Yoga are dying
People playing Games are dying
People doing nothing are dying
What one should do?
It’s important to understand these three terms which are used frequently and unknowingly to explain a cardiac conditions.
These three are Well recognised Three different Conditions of Heart.
One is a Functional problem whereas other Two are Structural.
Below i Will try to explain these three conditions in simple terms
The function of Heart is to so when that Pump fails it is called Heart Failure. It can occur due to various causes and every disease of Heart ultimately leads to this Problem.
Heart Attack is problem of piping- failure or shortage of Blood supply to Heart muscles which can occur acutely due to spasm or lodging of some plaque or thrombus or chronic due to Atherosclerosis they damage the heart and affect its Pumping action
Cardiac Arrest is Electrical problem which occurs due to fault in distribution of electrical signals within Heart. This stops Heart suddenly causes sudden ceasation of Pumping action. Therefore it is the most dangerous one.
In the beginning I mentioned few people although active but still found dead and most of them were found dead during the workout or with in few minutes of it without any warning or complaints.
In all these cases the deaths are attributed to Sudden Cardiac arrest which is Electrical problem as these people died suddenly and without any complaints or warnings.
In Heart attacks people complain of Pain, breathlessness, weakness.
In Heart Failure they complain of Breathlessness, Easy fatiguability, Swellings.
But Cardiac arrest is sudden and fatal. Few people may complain of Palpitations and discomfort.
Now important is the cause why Cardiac arrest is common among active athletes and fitness freaks involved in Heavy physical activities.
One cause of Cardiac arrest is Electrolyte imbalance which is due to heavy sweating during physical activities and inadequate hydration with electrolyte rich liquid.
