KMCT Heart Institute launched Malabar first Radical Lounge for Day Care Angiograms. We gave utmost attention to develop complete cardiac care in various subspecialties and has been doing Primary Angioplasty and Rescue Angioplasty, Peripheral angioplasty, Renal & Carotid Angioplasty, Percutaneous device closures of ASD,VSD & PDA, Permanent pacemaker implantation, EP study & EPRFA, CRT devices and pediatric cath procedures. In 2013, we conducted workshop on chronic total occultation angioplasty with eminent cardiac interventional from Spain Dr. Jose Diaz. In 2014, we conducted a VSD device closure workshop in small children of 1-3 year old with VSD’s. KMCT Heart Institute has performed more than 5000 Successful interventional and surgical procedure, under the leader ship of Dr. Shafeeq Mattummal & Dr. Anil Saleem. This was the first in this region to provide quality cardiac care at affordable price. Towards the end of 2012, KHIRC launched Cardiothoracic surgery division with two world class cardiac operation theaters with the most modern Stockert S5 Heart Lung Machine, Autocat 2 WAVE IABP with FibreOptixTM IAB technology along with dedicated TEE monitoring facility. The surgical team provides affordable quality cardiac surgical care with their dedicated staff member under the leadership of Dr.Kannan.R.Nair and Dr. Vijish Venugopal.
