Immediate post birth steps!
This is how we place the baby on Mummy's tummy after birth while the baby is still attached to the mother's womb with the umbilical cord. It gives the advantage of skin to skin contact while we are waiting to cut the cord. We encourage skin to skin after cord cutting with mother or father and breast feeding within the first hour of birth.
Also we never miss a paparazzi session with the proud mum and dad!!
Talk to your doctor about delayed cord clamping, first hour feeds and skin to skin contact.

Unmedicated labour is safely possible!
Bayley and Noah were very sure of one thing- they would do their best to have a unmedicated labour and birth within the limits of medical safety. To achieve this we had a written down birth plan since her 8th month.
It was a long journey of more than 18 hours of labour. The patience and determination was so mutual that it inspired both of us...the parents and the doctor. Birth doula Nikita helped a lot in creating that encouraging atmosphere for Bayley and Noah.
Bayley delivered without an epidural and without an episiotomy (vaginal cut to facilitate delivery).
Not that these are always possible but it's never possible without a prior planning and a thorough understanding between you and the doctor.
Please take time to build up trust with your doctor and make sure you discuss your preferences and plans to have the way you want within the safety limits.
Celebrate the process of childbirth keeping safety and plans well balanced.

Pregnancy beyond the due date carries its own risks:

1. Increased Risk of Meconium: There's a higher chance of the baby pooping inside the womb, which can lead to infections.
2. Monitoring Challenges: There is inadequate reliability on methods like USG, Doppler, or NST to monitor the baby's well-being.
3. Induction of Labour: The risk of requiring labor induction increases as the due date passes.
4. Higher C-Section Rates: There’s an elevated risk of cesarean delivery beyond the due date.

The outer safety limit is generally considered to be 41+6 weeks, after which it’s advisable to discuss processes to bring on labor.

Congratulations to Drashti Dhami on the arrival of her beautiful baby girl! 🎉💖
