Posting a video of a Robotic Repair done for an Umbilical Hernia with Diverication of Re**us muscles.
Robotic platform helps in developing a pre-Peritoneal plane on all sides of the defect. Also it enables proper excision of hernia sac and suturing and closing of the hernial defect as well as Diverication and also placing a simple Polypropylene mesh in the Pre-Peritoneal plane. Thus, use of costly composite mesh is avoided. Also, as the mesh placement inside the Peritoneal cavity is avoided, thus preventing Bowel adhesions.
