Today, we’re diving into one of the most central parts of the Indian diet: carbohydrates. From biryanis and rotis to festival sweets and comfort meals at home, carbs are everywhere. They bring culture and familiarity to our plates, but they can also lead to post-meal blood sugar spikes when not balanced well.
To help us understand this better, we have two of India’s most respected voices in diabetes care, in association with Bayer:
• Dr. V Mohan
• Dr. Shashank Joshi
And with them our Moderator Rohan Sehgal from The Sugar Spike Show.
This conversation is not about cutting out foods we love. It is about understanding our plate so we can stay in control with confidence.
If this discussion helps you, do consider:
• Liking the video
• Commenting with your thoughts or questions
& please subscribe for more such health conversations!

Cold winter air has low moisture, which evaporates the tear film in your eyes faster than usual. That’s why eyes feel dry, irritated, or strained, and for some people, the sudden temperature shifts between indoor heat and outdoor cold can make symptoms even worse.

A few small adjustments help, like using a humidifier to add moisture to your indoor air, doing blinking exercises when using screens, wearing protective glasses outdoors, and keeping artificial tears handy if your eyes dry out easily.
Those with existing eye conditions should avoid direct blasts of cold air and schedule timely check-ups.

and take simple steps to keep your vision comfortable and clear through the season.

Cold weather can change how we move by affecting our joint health.

During winters, reduced movement and lower sunlight can quietly weaken bone and joint support, making stiffness and aches more noticeable.

Staying active, getting enough Vitamin D, and prioritising joint-friendly nutrition can go a long way in keeping you steady through the season.

That's why it's important to stay aware, and to protect your joint health this winter.

Cold weather causes your blood vessels to tighten, which can raise blood pressure and make your heart work harder than usual, a key reason heart-attack cases spike during winter.
Simple precautions help: keep your core warm, avoid sudden temperature shifts, stay hydrated, and give your body a few minutes to adjust before any strenuous activity.
If you have existing cardiac concerns, regular monitoring becomes even more important in the colder months.
Stay mindful, stay protected, and to let your heart stay steady this winter.
