While water is the most important drink to have in this excessive heat, here are some refreshing healthy drinks that MUST be a part of your summers to keep both your body (and mind) cool:
1. Coconut water: Mildly sweet but loaded with electrolytes, this makes for a great intra workout drink for replenishing the lost electrolytes

2. Buttermilk: Low in calories, so this can easily be a part of your day if you’re watching your weight. Add some jeera to enhance the benefits of buttermilk

3. Fennel seed water/variyali sherbet: This drink keeps your body heat in check, reduces acidity, and aids digestion that often goes for a toss in the summers

4. Green juice: If your appetite goes down during these months which is quite normal, add this green juice to your diet so that your daily dose of fibre is ensured. Add any vegetables of your choice (green or non green), add some flavour like mint or ginger and you’re good to go

5. Sattu: Made of sattu flour, you can make this sweet or savoury depending on your mood. High in protein and great for cooling the body.
Enjoy summers with these drinks and share with someone you think needs this ☀️🍹

This seasons most asked question: Do mangoes lead to weight gain? MANGOES, yes. MANGO, no.

Here’s how you can enjoy this fruit:

1. Eat it, don’t drink it. So don’t have it in the form of aamras, juice, milkshake or smoothie

2. Have it as a mid meal snack, don’t combine it with a large meal

3. Stick to 1/2-1 mango per day and you’re good

Have it while it lasts!

Happy World Idli Day!
Reasons you should have this staple from South India:
1. It is made out of urad dal (black lentil) and rice which makes it a combination of cereal and pulse, providing most amino acids, thus a better quality protein

2. The fermentation process involved in making its batter promotes the growth of good bacteria in your gut that improves digestive health

3. It's supposed to be eaten with sambar (which means more protein) and coconut chutney (contains MCT - the good kind of triglycerides)

4. It's super tasty!

Double tap if you love idli ❤
