Eye Education Series: Herpes Dendritic Ulcer:

Usually complaints of patients are - foreign body sensation, watering and mild redness often following some dust injury.

Signs:
- Mild Conjunctival congestion
- Reduced corneal sensation
- Stains brightly on Fluorescein staining

Treatment
- Topical antivirals
- Lubricating drops

Usually takes 2-3 weeks for complete resolution.

Can recur during episodes of low immunity

Case Study: Secondary Glaucoma post Cataract Surgery.

This patient visited us post cataract surgery done elsewhere, with complaints of severe pain and blurry vision. His vision was Finger counting, IOP 48mmHg. He had corneal epithelial edema, iris bombe, vitreous to the section, ACIOL & retained cortical matter. He had complications during his surgery, PCR & the surgeon chose to implant an ACIOL. He had developed a secondary Pupillary Block Glaucoma due to ACIOL.

We did Yag Iridotomy at 9'0 clock to relieve the glaucoma. Post Yag procedure his IOP fell to 25 mmHg and patient was comfortable. Now planning IOL explanation with anterior vitrectomy and Iris fixated IOL.

Patient gave h/o of excessive eye rubbing and sudden painless diminution of vision- 10 years back. Was given scleral lenses after that

The DM tear with a deep stromal scar is clearly visible.
