Discard cosmetics that have ingredient C. Here’s why
C for Chemical Sunscreens
Oxybenzone, used in sunscreens, is an endocrine-disrupting substance and can harm the mother and her baby.
According to a 2018 study, using Oxybenzone products during pregnancy inflicts substantial harm to the mammary glands of the moms.
Start using natural and toxin-free products that are safe for you as well as your baby during pregnancy.
During pregnancy, your skin becomes delicate and sensitive and is more susceptible to sun damage. Pregnant moms should stay away from the sun as much as possible. And, sunscreens must form a crucial part of the skincare regimen of just anyone, and pregnant and new moms are not an exception. But chemical sunscreens are a big NO, particularly for preggy moms.
Check the ingredients in your sunscreens. If you find that your sunscreens contain ingredients like benzophenone, homosalate, octinoxate, octyl-methoxycinnamate, or oxybenzone, it’s time to throw them away. Because ingredients like these are not natal-safe, and can severely hamper the proper development of your baby. Some of these ingredients are endocrine disruptors that will end up being the enemy to your little angel, affecting their growth inside your womb. So, moms, it’s high time, that you take charge of not just your skincare needs, but also begin to monitor the ingredients that go into the making of the products you use.
Use a mineral-based, pregnancy-safe sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30, that will protect your skin from the harmful UV-A and UV-B rays.
Choose safe, be safe!
