Sampoorna – Preconceptional Care to Optimize Maternal and Neonatal Outcomes

FOGSI, under the banner of its Sampoorna initiative, successfully organized a two-hour dedicated FOGSI–FIGO collaborative meeting focused on advancing preconceptional care globally.

The meeting was a resounding success, marked by insightful discussions and active participation from FIGO leaders, FOGSI leaders, key stakeholders, and representatives from the Government of India, making it truly meaningful.

The gathering saw national and international representation from organizations such as Jhpiego, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Merida Foundation, MSD, and the presence of Dr. Pawan Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Maternal Health and Immunization, Government of India.

We were deeply honored by the participation of FIGO Outgoing President Prof.Anne Kiara , Incoming President Prof. Frank Lewin and his team, along with FOGSI Past Presidents, Secretary General, President-Elect, and Committee Chairpersons.

This collaborative dialogue marks a significant step toward positioning FOGSI as a global leader in preconceptional care and reinforces our shared commitment to improving maternal and neonatal outcomes worldwide.

EAGLE 119 – Bridging Knowledge with Hands-on Training

On 24th September, the EAGLE 119 Workshop was successfully conducted at Paalana Institute of Medical Sciences, Palakkad, Kerala.

🔹 Morning Session
A total of six advanced laparoscopic surgeries were performed by the distinguished EAGLE 119 faculty team:

🔹 Afternoon Session
The afternoon segment of EAGLE 119 included the inauguration ceremony, power-point presentations, quiz competition, and extensive endotrainer practice. Postgraduates were trained in fundamental endoscopy skills such as:

Trocar placement
Suction irrigation
Diagnostic hysteroscopy

🔹 Participation
EAGLE 119 witnessed the active involvement of 7 eminent faculties and 20 enthusiastic postgraduate students, ensuring both academic and practical exposure.

✨ EAGLE 118 Workshop Success Story ✨

The FOGSI–IAGE Eagle Workshop conducted at Marengo Asia Hospitals, Faridabad, Haryana on 19th September was a resounding success! 🎉

With 20 enthusiastic PG students joining from ESI Medical College, Nuh Medical College, Alfalah Medical College, BK Hospital, Fortis Hospital, Marengo Asia Hospital, and Wardha Medical College, the workshop turned into a vibrant academic feast.

🌸 The day began with a warm Inaugural Ceremony at the hospital auditorium graced by faculty, delegates, the CEO, MS, and the presence of FOGSI President Dr. Kiran Chandana and Secretary Dr. Chanchal Gupta.

4️⃣ Energy Sources and their Vigilant Use – Dr. Chanchal Gupta

🔬 The highlight was 6 live surgeries, covering diverse and challenging cases:

TLH in large uterus with multiple fibroids

TLH in a patient with 5 prior surgeries

Lap ovarian cystectomy with reconstruction in a 28 cm cystadenoma

Hysteroscopic polypectomy by cold scissors

Hysteroscopic guided removal of pregnancy in isthmocoele

Diagnostic hysteroscopies (including vaginoscopic technique)

💡 Endotrainer sessions further added to the hands-on learning, while the beautiful Eagle rangoli décor and the delightful Eagle cake cutting made the day memorable!

We were thrilled to see our young delegates learn, engage, and participate actively throughout. Their enthusiasm reaffirms our mission of inspiring the next generation of great endoscopists for the betterment of women’s health across India. 🇮🇳
