Our goal was simple but urgent: build awareness, break stigma, and address the psychological toll prostate cancer takes on men and their families. Too many men stay silent about their fears, their symptoms, and their mental health. Today, we made space for those conversations.

We kicked off the session with push-ups together — a reminder that men’s health isn’t just physical, it’s emotional, mental, and social. 💪

Prostate cancer isn’t just a diagnosis. It affects confidence, identity, relationships, sexuality, and day-to-day life. Talking about these issues openly is the first step to healing.

Let’s continue to:
✔️ Encourage early screening
✔️ Support men to seek help without hesitation
✔️ Spread awareness on treatment options
✔️ Address the emotional + psychological journey
✔️ Normalise conversations around men’s health

Prostate Cancer : Early Detection Can Save Lives

Prostate cancer is one of the fastest-growing cancers among Indian men, especially those over 50.

The challenge?
Most men don’t get diagnosed until the disease is advanced—largely due to low awareness and lack of regular screening.

What needs to be done ?
A simple blood test ( Serum PSA ) and urologic check-up after 50 can help catch prostate cancer early, when it is most treatable.
Every male above the age of 60 years must get an annual Serum PSA test done.
We start screening earlier (at 40 years of age) for patients with family history of Prostate Cancer

Modern Treatment Options

● Active surveillance for very early, low risk cancers

● Surgery (Robotic Radical Prostatectomy) for localized cancer

● Multi-modality Treatment for locally advanced cancers

● Radiation therapy with advanced precision

● Medical therapy for advanced disease

● Focal ablative therapy is another newer option available for such patients

The Role of Robotic Surgery

Today, robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy has become the gold standard in many Indian centers. With the da Vinci robotic system, surgeons can operate with extreme precision, offering:

A glimpse of the future !!

WCET Phoenix was exceptional ! Got hands on experience of Robotic en bloc resection of bladder tumours using the Virtuoso Surgical, Inc. novel robotic system, a perfect amalgamation of transurethral endoscopy and robotic technology.

Just thrilled about the promising possibilities. Soon we might enter the era of robotic endoscopic partial cystectomy, bladder diverticulectomy, and many more.

It is going to be exciting. I believe India is ready for it !

Attending WCET 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona, with esteemed colleagues Dr. Amy Krambeck, Dr. Riccardo Autorino MD PhD, Dr. Sammy Elsamra, Dr. Ahmed Ghazi, Dr. Hariharan Ganapathi, Dr. Mantu Gupta, and Dr. Arun Rai was an incredible opportunity.
