It’s a nonnegotiable fact of life: Everyone has bad days sometimes. We all have different ideas of what constitutes a crappy day and different reasons for having one, but it’s comforting to know that nobody is immune from having a rotten, awful, stinkin’ day at least once in a while. That includes psychologists, some of the very people trained to help others manage their own bad days (and mental health in general). Luckily, psychologists also happen to have some very useful tools for digging themselves out of a funk.

Worry is a cognitive process that involves thinking about problems that might happen in a way that can leave you feeling anxious or apprehensive. Not all worry is problematic – we all foresee difficulties in our lives and spend some time anticipating ways around potential obstacles

The worry tree is a way of conceptualizing some of the important steps in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and communicating these to clients. It systematically guides clients to distinguish whether they are experiencing the real event or hypothetical event worry, and then to engage in problem-solving (real event worry) or distraction (hypothetical event worry).

There are many common triggers for anger, such as losing your patience, feeling as if your opinion or efforts aren't appreciated, and injustice. Other causes of anger include memories of traumatic or enraging events and worrying about personal problems.

You also have unique anger triggers, based on what you were taught to expect from yourself, others and the world around you. Your personal history feeds your reactions to anger, too. For example, if you weren't taught how to express anger appropriately, your frustrations might simmer and make you miserable, or build up until you explode in an angry outburst.

Inherited tendencies, brain chemistry or underlying medical conditions also play a role in your tendency toward angry outbursts.

When you know your answer to “Do I need trauma therapy”, you can find relief through trauma-specific psychotherapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or dialectical behavior therapy. The goal is to help individuals overcome trauma and engage in normal activities unhindered.

The skills and techniques learned during trauma therapy can be applied to daily life. Interactions with others, the outlook on life, and dealing with new events are all positively affected by techniques learned in therapy. As individuals attend therapy, they will slowly gain more and more freedom with their family, friends, and colleagues.

When we focus on what serves us well and is energizing to us, we flourish. With more Positivity in our lives, we are likely to create a life that enables us to flourish rather than languish. This positivity Principle of ‘what you focus on grows” states that the topics or subjects we choose to put our attention to, or study, are fateful in the sense that they not only determine what we learn as we focus on them, but they actually create it – they grow it.

Traumatic events expose our vulnerability. They can happen on a large scale, transforming a community, a state, or a nation. Tragedies like wars and natural disasters affect people throughout the world. Trauma can also happen on a smaller scale—a mugging, a car accident, an assault. What these events have in common is that—in addition to physical injuries—they create extreme psychological stress. Even people who observed the event, without experiencing it first-hand, can show signs of distress.

But how do you get to the point where you are feeling better? In addition to dealing with the trauma, you may be facing extreme life changes, like being separated from loved ones, losing your home and job, or having bills pile up. Any one of these is an overwhelming challenge. But there are positive steps that you can take to care of your physical and mental health.

Self-doubt can be a persuasive voice that holds you back from performing your best. It can make you second-guess yourself before you even get started, and can hold you back from doing the things that you know will be good for both your career and personal development.

Self-doubt is defined as the tendency to doubt your own competence, worth, and personal value. The usual way that a person deals with their self-doubt often ends up making them feel even worse than before. It’s key to understand what these are so that you can i) recognize them within yourself and ii) deal with them properly in the future.

We will all feel anxious at some time and it’s very common to feel tense or unsure about a potentially stressful situation, such as an exam, starting a new job, or moving home. However, some of us will be affected more than others. Despite being a normal experience, if these feelings are very strong or are lasting a long time, it can be overwhelming.

Anxiety can make you imagine things are worse than they are and prevent you from carrying out everyday tasks or even leaving the house. Whereas stress is something that will come and go, anxiety can affect a person even if the cause is unclear.

By talking to our mental health experts ou will be able to rid of the disorder that may have robbed your freedom for such a long time.
