This is medical history and treatment of a 11 years old child suffering from Allergic Bronchitis since last 4 years.

She had persistent complaints of dry cough, cold and wheezing especially at night & during weather changes.
Due to this she was under the treatment of Child specialist and also on general treatment of cough syrup & bronchodilator
along with Inhaler Foracort on daily basis.

On 11th December 2025 Mission to Cure Clinic hosted a talk by Dr. Anmol Mittal (MS Orthopedics, Specialist in Shoulder and Knee). In this lecture he spoke about the most common yet challenging complaints of shoulder & knee joints.
Highlights of the lecture:
1) Differential diagnosis, clinical features and radiological representation of three common complaints of the shoulder joint i) rotator cuff tear, ii) rotator cuff tendinitis, iii) frozen shoulder.

2) It was stressed and explained that why appropriate history taking followed by clinical examination is crucial to come to a diagnosis, and not to insist on advanced imaging like CT and MRI. Many a times, only simple X ray of the shoulder joint is enough.

3) Next we dove in to the knee joint and its various common ailments such as different types of Anterior and Posterior Cruciate Ligament tears, Osteoarthritis of knees.

4) Basic criteria for partial and total knee joint replacements with imaging was explained. Why it is crucial to assess the patient before the surgery to get the best result of the surgery and post-surgery.

5) Lastly Dr. Anmol Mittal spoke about the ALPHA ortho team, their vision of providing a holistic approach to every patient and their high end technology and skills in providing the best orthopedic care.

On 6th November 2025 Mission to Cure clinic hosted an engaging session by Dr. Pratik Jariwala (MD Pathology). In this lecture we, the doctors of Mission to Cure were enlightened about CBC and its various indices. We learned about various indications of every parameter mentioned in CBC report.

Highlights of the lecture
1) RBC indices- MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW- CV/SD, RDW-SD and their uses in microcytosis, macrocytosis, hyperchromia, etc. These indices give a clue on what to expect in the smears. And how to interpret the cell count and other indices and their clinical implications were explained in detail.
2) How to asses iron deficiency anemia & beta thalassemia trait using Mentzer’s index and Sehgal’s index. Mentzer’s index less than 13 indicates Beta Thalassemia trait and more than 13 indicates Iron deficiency anemia. Sehgal’s index less than 972 indicates Beta Thalassemia trait and more than 972 indicates Iron deficiency anemia.
3) Platelet parameters – MPV, P-LCC, P-LCR, IPF. We also learned how to assess patients of Dengue using the large platelet count. If the trend of platelets is falling, but the large platelets are in an increasing trend, then we can confidently say that the patient is improving.
4) Manual platelet count is not useful in cases of thrombocytopenia. We should only ask for manual platelet count if there is microcytosis with elevated platelet count.
5) The absolute WBC count should be given equal importance while reading a CBC report.
6) Some more gems from the lecture :
I) Non fasting triglycerides are more important than fasting triglycerides.
II) TSH is the main test to regularly monitor a patient of thyroid disorders.
7) Lastly all our clinical doubts were answered with precision and logical explanation.
