Bigger surgery does not mean better cancer treatment. In breast cancer care, research has shown that removing more tissue doesn’t always improve survival outcomes.
Today, breast cancer is treated as both a local and systemic disease. In many cases, breast-conserving surgery combined with proper adjuvant therapy can be just as effective as a mastectomy.
The approach has evolved from “remove as much as possible” to “save as much as possible.” Because in modern oncology, precision matters more than size.
