One of the first questions patients ask after a diagnosis is:
“Doctor, will I need a permanent bag?”

The answer is not always.

With early detection and modern surgical techniques, many re**al tumors can be removed while preserving the a**l sphincter, allowing patients to pass stool normally.

A permanent stoma is usually required only when the tumor directly involves the sphincter muscles or is located very low in the re**um.

This is why early diagnosis and proper treatment planning are so important.

Fear should never stop someone from getting evaluated.

If your piles keep coming back, it’s usually not bad luck - it’s often repeating the same habits.

Common factors that increase pressure in the re**al veins include:
• Chronic straining during bowel movements
• Poor hydration
• Long hours of sitting
• Persistent constipation

Even after treatment or surgery, piles can recur if these underlying habits don’t change.

Long-term relief comes from improving bowel habits, hydration, and lifestyle.

Your colon heals when your habits do.

Many patients hope an a**l fistula will heal on its own - but unfortunately, that’s rarely the case.

A fistula is essentially a small tunnel connecting the inside of the a**l ca**l to the skin outside. Because this connection remains open, the infection continues to drain and often keeps coming back.

Creams or antibiotics may temporarily reduce symptoms, but they do not close the tunnel.

That’s why recurrent discharge, swelling, or pain near the a**s should always be evaluated properly.

Early and appropriate treatment prevents repeated infections and complications.

If someone has been telling you “it’s just gas” for months… it could be delaying something more serious.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is chronic inflammation inside the intestine — not simple acidity, not weakness, and not routine indigestion.
Symptoms may include:
• Urgency to pass stool
• Abdominal cramps
• Blood in stool
• Unexplained weight loss
• Persistent fatigue
These are not symptoms to ignore or repeatedly self-medicate.
IBD requires proper evaluation, investigations, and long-term medical management.
Early diagnosis prevents complications.

Not every severe abdominal pain is appendicitis.

While appendicitis typically causes pain on the right side, a similar combination of pain, fever, and tenderness on the left lower abdomen can be a sign of diverticulitis.

Diverticulitis occurs when small pouches in the colon become inflamed or infected. The symptoms can sometimes mimic other abdominal conditions, which is why proper medical evaluation is important.

Diagnosis should never be based on pain location alone. Clinical examination and appropriate imaging help confirm the cause.

Not all piles (hemorrhoids) are the same - and treatment should never be one-size-fits-all.
We classify piles into four grades:
• Grade 1 – Bleeding only, no prolapse
• Grade 2 – Comes out during motion, goes back on its own
• Grade 3 – Needs manual pushing back
• Grade 4 – Permanently outside
The grade determines the treatment.
Many early cases can be managed without surgery.
Proper clinical examination and accurate grading prevent unnecessary procedures and ensure the right care.

Peria**l pain or discharge in patients with IBD is not just an infection - it could be a fistula.

In conditions like Crohn’s disease, inflammation can pe*****te deep through the bowel wall and create abnormal tunnels connecting the intestine to the skin. These fistulas require proper diagnosis with imaging and targeted medical or surgical treatment - not just antibiotics.
Early specialist evaluation can prevent complications and improve long-term outcomes.

If you or someone you know has IBD and is experiencing peria**l symptoms, don’t ignore it.
