I saw this patient today in the evening OPD and smiled alone. Any guesses why??? 🌝

The crescent in the patient's eye (swipe to see where) reminded me of the Chandrayaan's landing on the moon 🚀 🌚 which we all watched LIVE!

Trivia : this crescent 🌙 shape is commonly found in the retina of patients who have myopia/minus eye power. It is not a disease.

Did you know the eye also has a POLE like the moon?! We call it the posterior pole.

An interesting looking *flower/ rosette shaped cataract in a young patient 🌼👁️

Usually such cataracts are caused by blunt injury to the eye and cataract surgery is needed to restore vision.

This patient however had no history of injury, maintained excellent vision, has no complaints and is hence under follow-up.
