Why is fasting important before surgery in children?
Before any procedure requiring anesthesia, children must stay empty-stomach to prevent serious complications. Solid food should be stopped 6 hours before surgery, while clear liquids like water, coconut water, or breast milk are allowed up to 3 hours before.

This precaution helps avoid vomiting and choking during anesthesia, which can be dangerous for the lungs.

Dhanvantari Hospital is the third center in western suburbs, being part of the KK Hospital group in Dahisar. Dr. Tarun Doshi with his wide experience, goodwill and service-oriented approach founded KK hospital to serve the community in 1985 where specialty hospitals were far off. His vision and wisdom has been taken forward by his son and daughter in law in establishing Dhanvantari hospital. Dhanvantari hospital was started in 2017 by Dr. Bhavesh Doshi and Dr. Deepika Doshi with the objective to provide affordable and quality healthcare for all.
