Every year on April 2nd, the world comes together to recognise World Autism Awareness Day. This day serves as a reminder to raise awareness, promote acceptance, and celebrate the unique strengths and experiences of people on the autism spectrum.

The theme for World Autism Awareness Day 2024 is ‘Empowering Autistic Voices,’ which aims to provide greater support and empowerment to individuals with autism, enabling them to lead meaningful lives and pursue successful careers. This day is all about fostering a more inclusive world for people with autism.

Many members of the community associate “Pride Month” with celebrating and accepting who they are, as they are, and living freely, proudly and openly.

In addition to celebrating LGBTQIA+ love and joy, it serves as a platform to address important policy issues and resources required by the community, raising LGBTQIA+ rights awareness, promoting inclusivity, advocating for equal treatment and acceptance and outlawing of the discriminatory laws and practices.

The word 'pride' is an integral cultural concept within the Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Q***r, Intersex and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) community, representing solidarity, collectivity, and identity as well as resistance to discrimination and violence.

The month of June is widely recognized as Pride Month, to commemorate the impact that LGBTQIA+ individuals have had on the world's history locally, nationally, and internationally.

Pride Month Celebrations continue throughout June, starting on from June 1 and concluding on June 30, consisting of parades, festivals, parties, and picnics, held in different cities across the globe.

🏳️‍🌈The colours of rainbow flag reflect the diversity of the community in addition to the spectrum of human sexuality and gender. In recent years, this flag has been updated and expanded to represent the intersectional diversity of le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, intersex, asexual, and Two-Spirit (LGBTQIA2-S) communities.

Did you know there’s a special meaning behind each colour on the PRIDE flag? 🏳️‍🌈
