We are thrilled to announce that we showcased BrainProt V3.0 at the Tech RnD Expo 2023, a spectacular two-day event at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technical innovation. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the professionals and students from diverse backgrounds were truly motivating. We were humbled by the immense interest and engagement we witnessed. Thanks to Prof. Sanjeeva Srivastava for his support.

What's even more inspiring is witnessing the plethora of innovations from different departments of IIT Bombay on display, all geared toward advancing the well-being of humanity. A hearty salute to the Make In India initiatives that continue to drive progress and motivate young minds all over India.

Prof. Sanjeeva Srivastava has officially released BrainProt V3.0 and presented the work at ASMS 2023 conference. The audience greatly appreciated the talk, and the session chair personally extended their congratulations for the tremendous efforts made. Additionally, our team from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, observed a significant surge in traffic from the USA as people eagerly accessed our database. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire BrainProt team for their outstanding dedication and hard work.

BrainProt: a novel omics-based knowledge-base

We are excited to release BrainProt Version 3.0. This is a novel omics-based knowledgebase with 6 domains aimed to accelerate neuroscience research globally. The knowledgebase aims to provide an easy and robust framework to access and visualize omics data of the Human Brain and its associated diseases/disorders.

This is one of the first knowledgebases that integrates popular disease-gene-association databases to curate and identify markers of more than 50 human brain diseases, along with protein/gene level expression of deadly brain tumors and neurodegenerative disorders. BrainProt also allows users to access the clinical trial information of drugs associated with dreadful brain diseases and provides identification of potential therapeutic compounds.

The objectives of BrainProt support and follows the footsteps of the HBPP (Human Brain Proteome Project) of the Human Proteome Organization (HUPO).

24/04/2023: The BrainProt team's presentation at the Cell Symposium: Neurometabolism in Health and Disease in Singapore and the National University of Singapore (NUS) received highly positive responses, emphasizing the significance of the work. Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit the Mass Spectrometry facility at NUS, Singapore. The discussions during the visit revolved around the ongoing and upcoming work of BrainProt, further highlighting the significance of their research.

We are pleased to share that our team had the privilege of presenting our latest updates at the KCDH program at IIT Bombay, which is the pioneering Koita Centre for Digital Health in India. This center is dedicated to advancing academic programs, research, and industry collaborations in the field of Digital Health. Our presentation received a positive response from numerous professors and visitors actively engaged in the Digital Health domain.

16.04.2023: The BrainProt team, along with Professor Sanjeeva, conducted a hands-on demo for a group of over 30 students from NMIMS. The demo provided an interactive learning experience, allowing the students to gain practical knowledge and insights. The session was well-received and offered a valuable opportunity for the students to engage with the BrainProt team and Professor Sanjeeva, benefiting from their expertise in the field.

The team had the opportunity to interact with a large number of enthusiastic young minds and engage in discussions about the future of BrainProt. Additionally, we have announced the forthcoming launch of the BrainProt Community, providing a platform for further collaboration and knowledge sharing.
