Tears of Joy and Happiness: I usually don't discuss my patients case in social media but this is worth sharing with all of you'll, especially with my colleagues and physio friends and physiotherapy students and all medicos. So here it goes.. My colleague gave me a case.. A 75 yr old female.. Right side Hemiparesis due to stroke which happened around Feb 2019... Due to hypertensive she went into stroke then and was right side paralysed.. Tat time she did a bit of physio and exercises and started walking but it was like dragging her feet and her right wrist was totally into flexion with all the fingers clawed and difficult to extend.. When she was referred to me.... Almost gonna be a month now, her condition was same.. As they discontinued the physio... She neglected her exercises and plus the lockdown n covid scenarios made her neglect and ignore things more... I started my treatment protocol.. I used to visit her every alternate days in a week.. Literally coax and encourage her everytime.. (As the old age ppl don't like to do exercise) and her daughter in law and son are so supportive and encourage her and even scold and shout her.. So now she walks with a stick, doesn't drag her feet, can walk steps, can hold glass n drink water, her fingers pincer grip and grasp are coming into action and today she cried and told me that yesterday night after almost 3 yrs she had food with spoon in her right hand (of course it was difficult and it took her almost 1 hour to finish her food, but she finished it). She literally bursted in tears with joy and happiness.. And I was so overwhelmed and emotional seeing her.... Feeling tat joy,...... She believed in me trusted in me and still have hope and faith in me .. And I have confidence in her that she can do more wonders.. All her other doctors said that it's difficult to gain the mobility and motion like before (as she had stroke in 2019).. I agree but nothing is impossible if u trust in urself.... Believe in urself... N I am really proud being a Physio... Coz what she thought was impossible I made it possible atleast not 100 percent but atleast 25-50 percent.. Patience, trust and hope and faith are the elements needed.. For patients as well as for the physio.. So cheers to us..
