The finger prints are formed during foetal development starting from the 13th to the 21st week after fertilisation. The word dermatoglyphics comes from two Greek words. DERMA meaning skin, GLYPHE meaning carve and refers to the friction ridge formation which appears on the palms of hands and soles of feet. The term was coined by Dr. Harold Cummins the father of American finger print analysis. With this study we can learn about the magnitude of multiple intelligence in a person. Knowledge of the innate ability of a child helps parents to guide them in their direction of their natural skills and also work with awareness on certain weakness. It guides parents and teachers on the predominant learning style of the child, which definitely helps the child excel as he can grasp better. A lot of energy time and money can be saved by just a clear understanding of these innate abilities existing in the child.
