SNP Molecular Genetics -Diagnostic and Research Centre was conceptualised and started for three main reasons :

Providing molecular diagnostic services

The idea of starting SNP Molecular Genetics Centre was conceived by Dr Sunita Polampalli who has an immense experience and knowledge in this field. Her main aim to start this lab was to provide a common platform for diagnostic and research services. This centre was started in June 2014 and is located at City of Joy, Mulund (West), Mumbai. The technologies that are adapted are Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), both real time and gel based PCR, and Flow Cytometry. The test scope includes Molecular Haematology, Molecular Pathology and Molecular Infectious. Besides molecular genetics, test scope also includes immunophenotyping of leukemias and PNH analysis by flow cytometry along with CD4/C8 and CD34 enumeration. The lab always strives to provide accurate, authentic and quick diagnosis at an affordable cost without compromising on the quality. Besides being a diagnostic centre, the lab also is a research centre for conducting various projects. These projects are either intramurally or extramurally funded by various organisations through collaborations. Apart from this, the centre is also a training institute for medical professionals and science graduates to enhance their knowledge and skill in this field. The centre conducts projects for MSc and PhD graduates.
