Trying to have a baby is one of life’s most exciting and emotional journeys. Whether it's your first time or you're expanding your family, laying a solid foundation before conception can make all the difference. Here are five essential things to consider while trying to conceive (TTC):

⭕ Check Your Hormones.

Hormones are the body’s messengers, and when it comes to fertility, they need to be in harmony. Key reproductive hormones like estrogen, progesterone, LH (luteinizing hormone), and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) help regulate your cycle and support ovulation. Imbalances can lead to irregular cycles or anovulation (lack of ovulation), making conception more difficult. A simple blood test can help assess your levels and identify any issues early on.

⭕ Understand Your Ovulation Window

Ovulation is your most fertile time of the month, and knowing when it happens can significantly increase your chances of conceiving. Most people ovulate about 14 days before their next period starts, but this can vary.

⭕ Get Your Thyroid Checked

The thyroid gland affects your metabolism, energy, and—yes—your reproductive system. Both hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) can interfere with ovulation and increase the risk of miscarriage if not managed. A simple TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) test can identify problems early. Optimal TSH levels for conception are generally between 1.0–2.5 mIU/L.

⭕ Check Fertility for Both Partners

Male factor infertility contributes to ~30-40% of infertility cases. A semen analysis checks s***m count, motility, and shape.

⭕ Maintain a Healthy Weight

A BMI that’s too low or too high can affect ovulation. Obesity is linked to insulin resistance, which can interfere with hormonal balance, especially in conditions like PCOS.

Trying to conceive is not just about timing—it's about preparing your body, understanding your health, and creating the best conditions for new life to grow. Everyone's journey is unique, but taking these proactive steps can help you feel more confident and informed.

Struggling with fertility? Low ovarian reserve (LOR) can make conception more challenging by reducing egg supply, affecting quality, and disrupting ovulation.

Here’s how LOR impacts fertility and what you need to know.

1. *Reduced Egg Supply*: LOR means fewer eggs are available for ovulation, fertilization, and implantation, making it harder to conceive.

2. *Poor Egg Quality*: Eggs from women with LOR may have chromosomal abnormalities, making it challenging for them to fertilize or implant properly.

3. *Irregular Ovulation*: LOR can disrupt hormonal balances, leading to irregular ovulation or anovulation (absence of ovulation), making it harder to conceive.

4. *Lower Success Rates with IVF*: Women with LOR may have lower success rates with in vitro fertilization (IVF) due to the reduced number and quality of eggs.

5. *Increased Risk of Miscarriage*: Women with LOR may be more likely to experience miscarriage due to poor egg quality, making it essential to seek fertility treatment promptly.

"Your fertility, your future 🌟 Don't let low ovarian reserve dictate your family plans. Stay informed, stay empowered, and take charge of your reproductive health!
