Cataract diagnosed, lens selected … you think you’re good to go ?! But wait what about the lens measurement? Every lens is unique in its number and shape (if toric)
How is this measured ?
1. Manually on an A scan machine
2. On a modern machine like a Lenstar , Argos or an IOL master

The measurements are converted into the right IOL powers using modern day calculations and formulae

Why is this important to know ?
This decides the prediction of you achieving clear vision post surgery
It’s a very important pre operative test

Trifocal IOL : works well for far near and intermediate but has issues for glare and haloes

EDOF IOL : works well for far and for intermediate distances and not so well for near so you may need to wear reading glasses sometimes
No glare and haloes with this one
