Yule — 2025

Yule marks the Winter Solstice, the longest night and the turning point of the year.
It is the moment when darkness reaches its deepest stillness and light is quietly reborn.
Yule does not arrive loudly.
It comes softly — through rest, reflection, and the promise of return.
In Wiccan tradition, this is the sacred pause where the old cycle completes and a new one begins beneath the surface.
As the Sun is reborn, so are our intentions.
What was heavy is released.
What was dormant begins to stir.

This Yule 2025, we honour the power of quiet beginnings, the strength found in darkness, and the steady return of hope.

Temple 9 – Dakshineswar Kali Temple

The Dakshineswar Kali Temple, one of the most iconic spiritual landmarks of Bengal, stands gracefully on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River. The temple is dedicated to Maa Bhavatarini, an aspect of Maa Kali, who is revered as the “Savior of the World” — liberating her devotees from the cycle of birth and suffering.

Built in the mid-19th century by Rani Rashmoni, a devout philanthropist, this magnificent Navaratna-style temple complex houses twelve shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, along with temples for Radha–Krishna, creating a divine harmony of Shakti and Bhakti.

Dakshineswar gained immense spiritual prominence through Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, who served as the chief priest here and attained divine realization in the presence of Maa Bhavatarini. Today, it remains a sacred center of spiritual awakening, devotion, and timeless faith.

Temple 8 – Kalighat Shakti Peeth

Kalighat Temple, one of the most revered and ancient Shakti Peethas in India, stands on the banks of the Adi Ganga in Kolkata. It is believed that the right toes of Goddess Sati’s right foot fell here, sanctifying the spot as a site of immense divine energy.

Here, Goddess Shakti is worshipped as Kali, the fierce and compassionate mother who destroys negativity and grants liberation, while Lord Shiva is worshipped as Nakuleshwar Bhairav.

The temple’s history traces back several centuries, evolving from a simple hut to the magnificent shrine we see today. It remains one of the most revered Shakti Peeths and a major Ta***ic center, where devotion, power, and mysticism merge. The temple’s spiritual vibration continues to draw millions of devotees seeking blessings, strength, and transformation.
