15th Annual Free Cataract Surgery Camp a Resounding Success for Mumbai Police
MUMBAI, February 21, 2026 — The Mehta International Eye Institute, Colaba, successfully concluded its 15th Annual Free Cataract Surgery Camp today, restoring the vision of 39 Mumbai Police personnel. This humanitarian milestone was achieved in prestigious collaboration with the Nagpada Police Hospital, the Rotary Club of Mumbai South Cuffe Parade, and Rotary International: District 3141. The surgeries were performed by the esteemed Surgical Chief, Padmashree Prof. Dr. Keiki R. Mehta, and Dr. Cyres K. Mehta, providing world-class care and high-quality lenses at no cost.
The Chief Guest of the event was Honourable Commissioner of Police, Mr. Deven Bharti.
A large number of distinguished Rotary dignitaries also attended the camp, witnessing firsthand the profound impact of this 15-year legacy. Dr. Keiki Mehta’s tireless hard effort and selfless service to the force were the centerpiece of the event, reinforcing his status as a vital asset to the public and the field of ophthalmology.
Under the expert supervision of Police Surgeon Dr. Gajanan Sanap and Dr. Suryakant Karade, every operated officer received a comprehensive one-month supply of post-operative medication.
