Common Causes of Patellar Tendon Tear

The causes of patellar tendon rupture can vary, but it is commonly associated with high-impact activities like sports or heavy weightlifting. Repetitive stress, aging, or pre-existing conditions like tendonitis can also weaken the tendon, increasing the risk of both micro tears and more significant ruptures.

Elbow Dislocations

Elbow dislocations occur when the bones of the elbow are forced out of their normal alignment, typically due to trauma such as falls or direct impact. This painful condition can result in severe swelling, visible deformity, and an inability to move the arm. Sometimes, elbow dislocations can be treated by manually repositioning the joint and using a brace or splint to keep it stable. However, more severe dislocations, especially those involving broken bones, torn ligaments, or nerve damage, may need surgery to heal correctly...

Types of Implant Fixation

Implant is secured within the body during hip replacement surgery is crucial. Here are the main categories of fixation:

Cemented: This method uses acrylic cement to anchor the implant firmly. It’s often chosen for older patients with compromised bone quality.
Cementless: A cementless approach relies on the natural bone growth to secure the implant, allowing for a more organic integration over time.

Does Hip Replacement Lower Fall Risk

People getting hip replacement surgery often wonder if their new joint will make them less likely to fall and break something. Arthritis and pain from a damaged hip can throw off your balance and make walking feel unstable and dangerous. The operation replaces the worn-out joint with metal and plastic parts that move smoothly without grinding or catching awkwardly. Your stability might improve after surgery, but the hip replacement lower fall risk does not disappear completely just because you got new hardware.
