Outcome
As of July 10th, the patient reported a substantial reduction in numbness and paresthesia. The patient expressed comfort and satisfaction with the treatment outcome. Additionally, a prescription for multivitamins was provided to aid in nerve recovery.
Conclusion
The patient's numbness and paresthesia were likely caused by pressure on the nerve due to improper initial root canal treatment. Re-treatment of the root canal, including the discovery and cleaning of an additional canal, successfully relieved the pressure on the nerve. The patient's symptoms have significantly improved with this intervention. Normal blood sugar levels ruled out diabetic neuropathy as a contributing factor.
