Seeing Beyond Sight: Supporting Visual Function in Children
Visual rehabilitation, or vision therapy, is far more than an “add-on” skill — it’s a crucial part of a therapist’s toolkit. It’s a non-invasive, structured program of exercises that trains the eyes and brain to work together more effectively.
For therapists, this means looking beyond symptoms to the root cause of functional challenges:
👁️ A child with eye-tracking issues may struggle with reading and writing.
🧠 An adult recovering from a brain injury may face headaches or dizziness due to poor eye coordination.
Our role is to assess visual deficits and design targeted interventions — from eye-tracking exercises to visual-motor training and perceptual activities. But this work isn’t about simply strengthening eye muscles. It’s about rebuilding neurological pathways for clear, comfortable, and efficient vision. The impact? Improved quality of life, independence, and participation for every individual we serve. 🌟
That’s exactly what we’ll be exploring at our upcoming CME workshop — Seeing Beyond Sight. A day dedicated to understanding visual function in children, identifying red flags, and mastering play-based strategies to transform therapy outcomes.
Expert Panel:
👩⚕️ Dr. Usha Johari – Ophthalmologist, Global Vision Brain Alliance
👩⚕️ Dr. Snehal Deshpande – Developmental & Neonatal Therapist, SI Certified, USC/WPS, C/NDT, Certified PPNE (APPPAH, USA)
