"Shidori" is a concept of giving a healthy eco friendly tiffin to Lord Ganesha on his way back home!
Healthy, as it usually is made of curd and rice or rice flakes (a good combination of carbohydrate and protein!)and Eco friendly, as it's packed in banana leaf. Inshore Bappa also makes sure to carry his own tiffin for his journey, so why not us???

काही वर्षांपूर्वी एक consumer म्हणुन आपल्याला Ice cream आणि Frozen dessert ह्यातला फरक एका Ice cream कंपनी मुळे कळून आला! मग काय एकाच वाद चालू झाला, की Ice cream healthy का Frozen dessert? एक आहारतज्ञ म्हणुन विश्लेषण करता काही मुद्दे लक्शात आले:
🍧Ice cream हे दुधापासून बनवले असते, तर Frozen dessert madhye दुधा सोबत वनस्पती तेला ( मुख्य म्हणजे पाम तेल) ह्याचा देखील वापर केला जातो.
🍦Ice Cream आणि Frozen dessert, दोघांमधे calorie चे प्रमाण सारखेच आहे. दोघांमधे साखरेचे प्रमाण देखील सारखेच आहे.
🍨 दुधात saturated fats असतात, ज्यामुळे हृदयरोग होण्याचे कारण असते. पण ह्याच saturated fat सोबत Trans fat चे देखिल प्रमाण पाम तेलात अधिक रित्या आढळून येते, ज्यामुळे हृदयरोग होण्याचं प्रमाण कितीतरी जास्त प्रमाणाने वाढते, कारण ह्यामुळे शरीरातील कोलेस्टेरॉल वाढते.
🍦Icecream किंवा Frozendessert, दोघे ही, जर का प्रमाणाबाहेर खाल्ले, तर ते तब्येतीला नक्कीच चांगले नाही. त्यामुळे हे क्वचित प्रमाणात सेवन करावे!

A lot of debate started when it was brought to the knowledge of the consumer that Ice Cream and Frozen dessert are two different things, a few years back! On analysis I realised the following facts:
🍧Ice cream is made from Milk and milk solid whereas Frozen dessert has Vegetable oil (esp Plam oil)and vegetable protein like soyabean in addition to milk and sugar
🍦Ice Cream and Frozen dessert both have appropriate similar amount of calories, carbohydrate, sugar content and fats when we compare thier nutritional value.
🍨Milk has saturated fats which are also known to predispose to Cardiovascular risk. However the saturated fat content and Trans fat content of Palm oil is much much higher than that of milk, hence increasing the risk of Cardiovascular diseases by many folds.
Both consumed in excess amounts can lead to weight gain, high blood sugar levels, increase in the level of serum Cholesterol. Hence both can be enjoyed in limited quantities and occasionally!

Beat the Exam fever with the Right Nutrition!
Let's define EXAMS in a new way:
📝E: Ensure proper nutrition. Prefer eating proper well balanced meals. See to it that every meal consists good quantity and quality of proteins. Include Milk, Eggs, Paneer, Cheese, Curd, Sprouts, Fish in your meals.
📝X: X’cuse yourself from studies and indulge in eXercise; a few stretches will help or a walk for 15 to 20 minutes will refresh you.
📝 A: Adequate water intake. Consume atleast 1 to 1 ½ litre of water every day.  This will help to keep your body well hydrated and help flush off the toxins, that the body is creating due to stress. Instead of drinking a glass full of water at a go… keep on sipping water. It’s wise to avoid any cold drinks.
📝M: Munch on healthier foods, for steady supply of energy. Your brain is using up a lot more of glucose now….so even though you are sedentary, you need to eat at frequent intervals. So instead of chips and namkeen, bank on some healthy options like puffed cereals, Whole grain Khakhara, roasted sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds, rajgeera chikki.
📝S: Strengthen your immune system. Consume at least 1 citrus fruit or a handful of berries every day. You can have Oranges, Sweetlime, Pineapples, strawberries, Guava, Grapes, Kiwis.

A warm Pancake to Kickstart your morning is everyone's favorite! Replace the refined wheat flour with some Oats or Ragi or Millets and your healthy version of pancakes id ready!

Gul Poli! Some recipes are comfort foods and bring in a lot of nostalgia just with their aroma when they are being prepared. One such recifor me is Gul Poli. Made with simple and nutritious ingredients, Gul poli is a versatile recipe which can be used in any meal. Accompany it with milk for ur breakfast or snacks or have it like a dessert post meals.
Well for me it was majorly a snack, especially after returning from school, or college.
