💡 “My child isn’t saying they’re dysregulated… but their behavior might be.”
Children don’t always have the words to express what’s happening inside — but their actions speak volumes. ✨
Look out for signs like:
🔸 Hyperactivity
🔸 Trouble focusing
🔸 Emotional outbursts
🔸 Avoiding favorite activities
🔸 Nail-biting or chewing on things
🔸 Sleep difficulties
These can all be ways their nervous system is asking for help.
As occupational therapists, we help children and families understand these signals and find ways to support regulation through play, movement, and connection. 💛
📩 DM us if you’re noticing these signs in your child.

Heavy work = happy, focused bodies!
Heavy work activities help kids feel more grounded, regulate their emotions, and improve their attention.
By providing proprioceptive input, these activities are especially helpful for children who seek extra movement or struggle with sensory processing.
Let’s support our little ones with strategies that meet their needs and help them shine!

Babbling is more than just cute sounds — it’s a big milestone in your baby’s communication journey!
When babies babble, they’re practicing the building blocks of language — learning how to use their mouth, lips, and voice to make sounds.
It’s their way of saying, “I’m getting ready to talk!”
Encourage babbling by:
• Responding with eye contact and smiles
• Imitating their sounds
• Talking and singing to them throughout the day
Every “ba-ba” and “da-da” is a step toward future words.
Celebrate the babbles — they matter!

Not every meltdown, fidget, or emotional outburst is because of sensory processing difficulties. While sensory challenges can play a role, dysregulation can also stem from:
✔️ Emotional overwhelm – frustration, anxiety, or big feelings they can’t express
✔️ Fatigue or hunger – basic needs not being met
✔️ Cognitive overload – too many demands or expectations at once
✔️ Social difficulties – struggling with interactions or feeling misunderstood
✔️ Changes in routine – unexpected transitions can throw kids off
Before assuming it’s a sensory issue, take a step back. What’s going on in their environment? What’s happening emotionally? A holistic approach to regulation makes all the difference!
