This Raksha Bandhan, the spirit of love and bonding between brothers and sisters came alive at Arushi The Learning Center!
Our talented boys poured their creativity into heartfelt greeting cards, while the girls beautifully crafted handmade rakhis, each tied with love and care.
Adding to the festive spirit, our dedicated teachers presented a thoughtful drama showcasing the true meaning of Raksha Bandhan – the promise of protection, respect, and unconditional love.
The entire celebration was filled with joy, learning, and togetherness, reminding us that festivals are not just traditions, but beautiful ways to express emotions and strengthen bonds.

Celebrating the True Meaning of Friendship
At Arushi – The Learning Centre, we celebrated Friendship Day with warmth, learning, and creativity!
Our dedicated teachers performed a thoughtful skit, sharing a beautiful message on how to be a true friend and how to nurture bonds with kindness and respect.
Meanwhile, our amazing Prevocational Class students created vibrant friendship bands and set up a stall, learning valuable buying and selling skills through real-life experience.

Parents’ Day Celebration | July 29, 2025
We celebrated the love and support of our amazing parents, grandparents and caretakers!
Our students made greeting cards to express their love and gratitude.

Every card was a small reminder of how much parents, grandparents and caretakers mean to us — guiding, caring, and loving us unconditionally.

On July 25, 2025, Arushi - The Learning Centre, Department of Special Education, SNDT Women's University, in collaboration with Leelabai Thackersey College of Nursing, SNDT Women's University, organized a Tetanus (TT) vaccination camp at the Juhu Campus.

The camp was conducted smoothly and efficiently by the medical team from nanavati max hospital

We sincerely thank the entire team for their professionalism, care, and commitment to community well-being.

48 participants, which include Arushi-LC students parents/caregivers, Arushi-LC staff & faculty, along with volunteers & non-teaching support staff benefited from this camp.

Our students had an absolute blast in their first cooking class of the new term, where they got to try their hand at roasting corn on the gas stove!To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, we began with a thorough briefing on safety precautions and equipment handling.

Each student was then given the chance to take turns, carefully guided by our instructors, to roast their very own corn to perfection! The excitement was palpable, and the smiles said it all – they had an amazing time!

We recently hosted a successful webinar attended by school parents and trainees from the Department of Special Education, SNDTWU! Our special thanks to Ms. Disha Zaveri, an experienced Special Educator and Associate Director of Autism Intervention Therapist Team at Ummeed- Child Development Centre, for leading an interactive and insightful session on effective behaviour management strategies.

Her expertise and practical tips provided valuable support for caregivers, empowering them to better understand and support their child's development.

We celebrated World Down Syndrome Day on March 21,2025! Our students, parents, and teachers wore mismatched socks to show support and solidarity. We also visited Café Arpan, a beautiful space run by individuals with disabilities, to encourage our students at Arushi that they too can be productive adults. Seeing the Café Arpan team thrive was truly inspiring!
