On July 25, 2025, Arushi - The Learning Centre, Department of Special Education, SNDT Women's University, in collaboration with Leelabai Thackersey College of Nursing, SNDT Women's University, organized a Tetanus (TT) vaccination camp at the Juhu Campus.

The camp was conducted smoothly and efficiently by the medical team from nanavati max hospital

We sincerely thank the entire team for their professionalism, care, and commitment to community well-being.

48 participants, which include Arushi-LC students parents/caregivers, Arushi-LC staff & faculty, along with volunteers & non-teaching support staff benefited from this camp.

Our students had an absolute blast in their first cooking class of the new term, where they got to try their hand at roasting corn on the gas stove!To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, we began with a thorough briefing on safety precautions and equipment handling.

Each student was then given the chance to take turns, carefully guided by our instructors, to roast their very own corn to perfection! The excitement was palpable, and the smiles said it all – they had an amazing time!

Monsoon season just got a whole lot tastier with the aroma of roasted corn wafting through the air! "

Empowering Caregivers: Effective Behaviour Management Strategies

We recently hosted a successful webinar attended by school parents and trainees from the Department of Special Education, SNDTWU! Our special thanks to Ms. Disha Zaveri, an experienced Special Educator and Associate Director of Autism Intervention Therapist Team at Ummeed- Child Development Centre, for leading an interactive and insightful session on effective behaviour management strategies.

Her expertise and practical tips provided valuable support for caregivers, empowering them to better understand and support their child's development.

We're grateful for her contribution and look forward to more collaborative opportunities!

We celebrated World Down Syndrome Day on March 21,2025! Our students, parents, and teachers wore mismatched socks to show support and solidarity. We also visited Café Arpan, a beautiful space run by individuals with disabilities, to encourage our students at Arushi that they too can be productive adults. Seeing the Café Arpan team thrive was truly inspiring!

Let's promote awareness, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome! "

Eye Care for the Future!

We're thrilled to announce the successful Eye Checkup Camp at Kid's Eye Clinic in Santacruz!

In partnership with renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Neepa Thacker Dave, our students received complimentary eye tests. Dr. Dave's gentle and fun approach made the experience enjoyable for all!

Students at Arushi Dse Sndtwu celebrated the last day of school before the break by lighting lamps of love this Diwali! Everyone was surrounded with beauty and joy, making colourful rangolis and crafting decorative lamps. Smiles beamed throughout as everyone rejoiced in the friendly atmosphere. It was a wonderful way to end such an amazing semester together, filled with hope for what lies ahead!
