How does it spread
(Cause):
‐ Mumps is highly contagious, primarily spread through respiratory droplets from coughing, sneezing, or talking of an infected person
-It can also spread through close contact with infected saliva, such as sharing utensils or drinks
Prevention:
It's crucial to practice good hygiene and avoid close contact with infected individuals to prevent the spread of the virus.
MMR vaccine is highly effective, with two doses providing long-lasting immunity in most individuals. It's essential to stay up-to-date on vaccinations to help prevent outbreaks and protect ourselves and others.
In most cases, mumps is a self-limiting disease, but in rare cases it can lead to complications such as swelling of the brain(aseptic meningitis & encephalitis), pancreatitis, SN hearing loss and painful inflammation of the te**is (orchitis) in adult males.
