Being in the industry for past 7 years Ive realized that the requirement today is to provide best of service at the doorstep to the customer, and diet and nutrition consultation is one of those services that can reach out to you through 'Nutrify'. Did you know not all watermelon 🍉 is red/pink ? The sweet seasonal fruit also comes in vibrant shade of yellow. Traditional watermelons get their signature pink hue from lycopene - the same antioxidant that makes tomatoes red. Yellow watermelons , however don’t contain lycopene.
Surprisingly the cultivation of yellow watermelons came before pink. First grown in Africa about 5000 years ago, these went through generations of selective cross breeding for texture , colour and sweetness before any pink variety ever appeared . Yellow variety usually taste a hit sweeter and have more honey like flavour . Both varieties contain high levels of vitamin A and C . And although yellow watermelons lack lycopene , they make for it in beta carotene.

Summers should be done right!!! 😍

Watermelon’s a refreshing fruit. It makes the perfect treat on a hot summer day. It’s also full of vitamins and antioxidants, and it contains 92 percent water. That makes it a healthy alternative to sodas and sugary fruit juices if you’re not a water drinker.

Some facts and benefits of water melon for kids (of-course adults too ) 😎😎

🍉 The high water and electrolyte content of watermelons make them ideal as a refreshing summer thrust quenchers. They keeps us hydrated, our skin fresh, and can clean the kidneys of toxins.

🍉 Nutritionally, watermelons contain high levels of vitamin B6 (which increases brain power), vitamin A (good for eye sight), potassium (which helps in curing heart disease and keeping the heart healthy). The watermelon also contains Vitamin B1, C and manganese which protect against infections.

🍉 All parts of a watermelon can be eaten, even the rind, which actually contains a number of nutrients too, but due to the unappealing flavor is rarely eaten. In China though, the rind is used as a vegetable and stir-fried, stewed or pickled.

Poha potato tikkis are easy, quick and a super alternative to the humble but sometimes boring poha 😅

For about 7 tikkis - here is what you need

1/2 cup thick poha , washed
1/2 large potato , boiled and mashed
1/2 small zucchini , grated and squeezed to remove water
Salt , pepper powder and chat masala to taste
Little rawa mix with some salt and chili powder to coat
1.5 tbsp oil for shallow frying

Mix all the ingredients together gently bringing them together

Shape them into balls and press between hands to shape like a round disc

Coat them with rawa both sides and shallow fry both the sides on medium flame till golden brown! Serve with ketchup or chutney ☺️

After I posted the story , I was flooded with dm’s for the recipe . “Aapka hukum sar aankhon par” .

So here goes 😀

1:2 ratio for carrots and pumpkin🎃
Peel , cut in big chunks, pressure cook with very little water . 2 whistle is enough.

Now let it cool, blend well. Use the leftover water in cooker to blend it smooth.

Now use a mix of butter olive oil to temper the sauce with lots of garlic , add some mixed herbs , salt, adjust the consistency to your liking . I used a cube of grated cheese 🧀 too. (This is optional )
Throw in your pasta, and garnish with it with fresh parsley tada ! Ready !

P.S. you can add whatever sautéed veggies 🥗 you fancy. Can add cottage cheese cubes or cooked chicken too 😍

Schools are re opening and we are all looking for snack options either to pack -send or offer after school as a quick bite . Worry not I am here with a list of snacks that will be loved by kids and adults alike . Most of them can be packed in tiffins too 😊

Electrolytes are hormone controlled chemicals products by our bodies to stabilise and energise our cross. They include , of all things , minerals ! In specific electrolytes produce sodium , potassium, calcium, magnesium , and bicarbonate.

Thankfully , there are quite a few foods that are naturally full of electrolytes! This recipe is superb for adults and kids alike.
