Oral Submucus Fibrosis (OSMF) is a chronic, insidious, pre malignant condition wherein the patient suffers from inability to open the mouth and burning sensation of oral cavity which worsens with time. There is dense deposition of collagen causing faucial/ labial/ buccal fibrosis. As the disease progress the patient experiences severe restriction in opening the mouth thereby causing difficulty in ingestion, chewing and swallowing of food.
Most common causes include chewing of to***co, betel nut, smoking and alcohol abuse.

This young patient came to us with decreased mouth opening and burning sensation of oral cavity since 6 years. After a treatment of 4 weeks duration her complaints were relieved. Mouth opening increased to 3 fingers with relief in associated symptoms.

A TRANSGENDER person is someone whose gender identity differs from that typically associated with the s*x they were assigned at birth.
“One is not born, but rather becomes, woman.”
Anatomy, therefore, is not destiny. One can choose what gender one wants to be. As an ENT Surgeon when I cater to them, I understand their desire to change their destiny.
To change the biologically defined gender we have to bring about a plethora of changes.
“VOICE” being of paramount importance.
By surgically modulating their quality of voice (Feminisation/ Masculinization) we give them a new identity that equates to their new face & new life.

It was my pleasure to be a part of the 2nd meeting of the International Association of Trans Voice Surgeons (IATVS) and 17th Phonosurgery Workshop.
