Fiber is an important part of an healthy diet but did you know that there are two types of dietary fiber; Soluble Fibre and Insoluble Fibre?

What’s the difference?

🔷SOLUBLE means it dissolves in water creating a gel-like texture in your diet which helps slow transit time down. Soluble = “Slow”

Those with loose or watery stools can benefit from choosing foods higher in soluble fibre listed above

🔺Benefits of Soluble Fibre:

-Reduces Cholesterol Levels and the risk of heart disease.
-It keeps diabetes in check.
-It helps weight loss.
-Promotes healthy bowel movements and reduces diarrhea.

🔶INSOLUBLE means it doesn’t dissolve in water and therefore provides bulk to the stool which helps creates weight and push things along.

Those who struggle with Constipation can benefit from choosing foods higher in insoluble fibres.

🔺Benefits of Insoluble Fibre:

-Helps weight loss by starving off hunger pangs.
-It improves bowel-related health problems like hemorrhoids, constipation, f***l incontinence.
-Lowers the risk of diverticular disease.

Adding both in your diet daily improves gut health, maintains a healthy weight, reduces inflammation, prevents diseases, helps improve cholesterol and keeps blood sugar levels in check.

Posted • What do your favourite pack of chips, readymade food packets or sweet treats have in common?

Yes they all contain "Food Additives"

Most of us are really not aware of what we are putting inside our body in the name of food. Shouldn't your food be free of harmful additives? Additives and artificial ingredients add little or no nutritional value to foods and can pose a threat to your health.

It is better to make simple lifestyle changes inorder to avoid these food additives or be wise in choosing foods that are in their natural state and color.

Posted • People talk about losing weight all the time but the struggles of gaining weight are never spoken about. Gaining weight is as much a struggle as losing weight is. Following these right ways will definitely help you gain weight the right way.

1. Increase your Protein Intake:
Focus on having any form of protein with every meal that you have. The idea here is to help you gain muscle which is important in gaining weight.Include protein rich foods like fish, chicken, eggs, lean meat, tofu and dairy products. Plant based sources like nuts, seeds, legumes, lentils & sprouts.

2. Bulk up:
Strength training is ideally the best in order to promote muscle growth. So, 3-4 times a week of strength training and exercise that focus on muscle building is recommendable. This will also help in stimulating your hunger.

3. Add More Healthy Calories to Your Meals:
When trying to gain weight high calories foods are the key. Healthy caloric sources include nut butter, nuts and seeds, avocado, banana, dates, healthy smoothies etc

4. Change your food habits:
Try increasing your portion intake slowly. Avoid skipping meals and if possible try adding snacks to your routine which are dense in calories and rich in nutrients like nuts and dry fruits, you can have protein smoothies or shakes. Make sure to incorporate Rice, Potatoes ,Salmon, Whole grain bread, Cheese, Full fat yoghurt, nut butters etc

5. Get Enough Sleep:
Sleep promotes muscle growth and restoration after your workouts. Lack of sleep can increase your cortisol levels which is a stress hormone leading to muscle breakdown and resulting in weight loss.

Proper diet and workout will definitely help you see results. Remember any transformation takes time, while you should always stay consistent and have patience.
