We don't need any special foods or juices or organ cleansing diet plans or supplement mixtures or restrictive diets to detox our bodies

In this post, let's discuss the steps to achieve the same :

✅Sit with your knees higher than your hips (use a stool or other flat, stable object if necessary)

✅Lean forward and put your elbows on your knees

✅Relax and bulge out your stomach

✅Straighten your spine

✅Concentrate on your breathing

Myth 2 :

You must take your protein within 30 minutes of finishing your workout

Fact :

Protein is required for building muscle as well as recovery which can be covered throughout the day as per your daily protein targets and hunger levels

Aasaan is constantly reading and staying up-to-date✅

A recent study published in Diabetologia (the journal of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD)) finds that later bedtime routines and poor quality of sleep are associated with higher blood glucose levels and poorer control of blood sugar following meals 😴

we focus on 4 important wheels of the car out of which sleep is a very important wheel 💤

In our practice, we have seen the effects of poor sleep on the blood sugar levels

For example :

If a patient is eating the same food everyday but suddenly they notice a spike in their blood sugar levels and they are unable to understand the cause of it, we often ask them about their sleep and they realise that something had disturbed their sleep last night which is contributing to these unusual high levels!

We will be discussing more about sleep and sleep hygeine rituals in the coming few weeks! 🛌🥱😴

Dr Roshani shares how she became a “lifestyle endocrinologist”

I am qualified as a medical expert in hormones, diabetes, thyroid, weight and metabolism. Endocrinology is the super-specialisation in hormones, just like cardiology is super-specialisation in the heart. So I am maximally qualified in prescribing medication for hormonal imbalances. Over the years, in practice, I have always believed in the power of the human body. It is designed for health, not disease. Yet, allopathic doctors are trained to help from a starting point of disease. What gives me joy is to take a person onto the journey of HEALTH, prevention and sensible sustainable individualised lifestyle changes. That started with my own journey, when I was able to come off 100 micrograms of daily thyroid hormone replacement (which I took from 2006-2013), despite being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease and hypothyroidism (autoimmune underactive thyroid). I believe it was due to reiki meditation and healthy lifestyle changes, that I was able to stop my levothyroxine dose completely. Today, my thyroid blood test TSH, stays normal, and fluctuates during times of stress. I have not taken thyroid medication since 2013! In 2013, I also had an HbaA1c in the prediabetes (6.1). I was able to successfully reverse this to completely normal, without taking a single medication for diabetes. How? Through improvements in exercise, nutrition, sleep and stress management. So I realised that just because I am a doctor doesn’t mean I need to only treat patients with more drugs. I want to work with my patients so they can achieve the best health possible with the least amount of medication. No shortcuts! In my mind, the effort is worth it because we get to see the human body repair many things in ways that are not commonly described in modern medical textbooks, clinical practice guidelines, or medical education conferences. The human body was designed long before those things were created by humans! I wish and ray that everyone achieves their health goals in a way that makes sense and works for them.
