On the busy streets of Marine Drive, Dipali Lahamate, an intern from Nair Hospital Dental College Mumbai was happily going for her brothers convocation at Grant Medical College Gymkhana who had just completed M.B.B.S . At the signal of Taraporewala Aquarium she looked to cross the road at the zebra crossing.

She was hit by a white Honda city travelling at high speeds. As per the FIR records,the alleged accused is Mrs. Shikha Jhaveri, a resident of Nepeansea Road, a teacher by profession. Her young daughter was sitting beside her.

Instead of stopping and seeking medical aid, she continued to accelerate and tried to flee. A stranger chased her down and managed to catch her at the next signal.
Meanwhile, helpful passers-by managed to get Dipali to Bhatia Hospital, Tardeo Since being admitted on Saturday , she has been on life support and hasn't regained consciousness . She is comatose and critical,while the alleged accused is out on bail. Any eyewitnesses, or anyone with any leads/ help, please get back to us.
