Started in 1972, the 'Association of Medical Consultants' comprises of 11,000+ allopathic postgraduate consultants. Our members own/run more than 1500 small to medium-sized nursing homes with total bed strength of more than 12,000 beds, catering to middle-income groups seeking affordable standardized healthcare. We, therefore, provide 60% of the beds for indoor patients all over Mumbai and its suburbs. Our AMC FEQH accreditation of nursing homes assures standardized healthcare. We are also a part of NATHEALTH. As a charitable organization, we are a socially conscious body registered with the Charity Commissioner. We take pride in practicing and preaching ethical and evidence-based medical practice. Our Mumbai office is located in Andheri (E) and has a total area of 1250 sq. There is a dedicated office for professional indemnity policy as well as health & accident policy. Our association, which started in Mumbai, has spread its wings to other states and are known as Affiliate cells. The Affiliate cell of AMC was started in 2011. Mangalore was the first unit to be soon followed by Bangalore and Kolhapur. Subsequently, AMC was formed in Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik and Pune and Goa is in the process of getting registered. In order to bring all the present and future Association of Medical Consultants under one roof, the Federation of Association of Medical Consultants (FAMCI) was conceptualized. The untiring efforts of the Affiliate team have seen the light of the day and FAMCI & its Constitution was ratified in the AGM of March 2017. Dr. Lalit Kapoor has been nominated as the Founder President of FAMCI. All cities with a minimum of 25 members are invited to join FAMC. At AMC we guide, help and support our members with the non-medical aspects of their medical practice, thus leaving them free to concentrate on their patients.
