Contraception is not about trends, fear, or random advice.
It’s about the right method at the right life stage.
Here’s my honest, clinical rating as a doctor 👇
🔹 Condoms – 9/10
✔️ Effective when used correctly
⚠️ Small chance of breakage if not used properly
✅ ONLY method that protects against STDs
🔹 Oral Contraceptive Pills – 7/10
✔️ Very effective if taken daily at the same time
❌ No STD protection
⚠️ Mild side effects in some women
🔹 Emergency Pills – 0/10
🚫 Not a contraceptive
⚠️ Can disturb hormones and cycles badly
✔️ Use ONLY in case of accidents, not routinely
🔹 Copper-T (IUCD) – 7/10
✔️ Excellent option after childbirth for spacing
⚠️ Needs gynecologist insertion
❌ No STD protection
🔹 Injectables – 6/10
✔️ Can be used during breastfeeding
⚠️ May cause irregular periods & weight gain
❌ No STD protection
🔹 Contraceptive Patches – 8/10
✔️ Safe & convenient
⚠️ Needs weekly change
❌ No STD protection
🔹 Permanent Methods – 10/10
✔️ Tubal ligation (female) / Vasectomy (male)
✔️ Best once family planning is complete
⚠️ Permanent decision, needs a doctor
❌ No STD protection
🔑 One Important Rule to Remember
• Unmarried / multiple partners:
👉 Always use condoms for STD safety, even with other methods
• Married, single partner:
👉 Pills or patches may be suitable
• After first child:
👉 Copper-T for spacing
• Family complete:
👉 Permanent methods are the best choice
👉 Contraception is about planning — not panic, not myths.
