Hospital is equipped with all the latest and state of the art medial equipments and diagnostic facilities. Bhatia Hospital – a Dream and a Vision
Bhatia Hospital is a result of a dream of its founders eight decades ago to give quality healthcare to the citizens of Mumbai. From a modest beginning as a maternity nursing care institution, it has metamorphosed into a multi specialty professionally managed healthcare institution. The name Bhatia Hospital conjures up the image of an institution with excellent nursing care and personalized services. Sizewise, it can be categorized into a medium sized hospital. The very smallness in size gives us an advantage of offering a personalized service and attention to the smallest details of patient care. The hospital is equipped with all the latest and state of the art medial equipments and diagnostic facilities including MRI, CT Scan, ultra modern complex of six Operation Theatres, most high-tech ICU, IPCU, modern physiotherapy department and state of the art casualty department. Its pride of place is its Burns Department for which it has acquired a unique name in the whole of Mumbai, and even in distant places outside Mumbai. All the diagnostic departments are open round the clock throughout the year. In its pursuit of excellence, the Hospital has constantly been endeavoring to improve its service standards in the fields of medicine, nursing care and general patient care. Utmost attention is given to hygiene and cleanliness. The hospital caters to the entire spectrum of the population – from lower income groups to the elite class of the society. It is having general wards for poor patients and super deluxe rooms for the elite class. One of the unique and distinct feature of the hospital are its General Wards. They are one of a kind in the entire city. Each Bed in these Wards is equipped with all the facilities like TV, visitor sleeping area and complete privacy with partitions. It is like a private room with sharing bathrooms, offering the benefit of privacy at the price of a general ward. Hence it is not surprising that they are most of the time fully occupied. The management of the hospital is committed to the ethical credos of its founding fathers belonging to the Bhatia Community (after which the name Bhatia Hospital derives its origin) from Gujarat and Kutch. It was their inspirational guiding force when they founded this august institution eight decades ago. It is committed to follow the principles of fairness and transparency in its dealings and offering its services at reasonable price. It is committed to give maximum value addition to the health-seekers coming to the hospital. Most of the present Trustees are direct descendents from the original founding fathers. They deeply value its ethical principles and take pride in their heritage. This is most unlike the ‘corporatization’ of the healthcare services being seen on the healthcare scene in the country in the wake of so called ‘globalization’ of the economy. We at Bhatia Hospital firmly believe that professional and modern management is not at the cost of personal care and fairness but as a complementary to it, enhancing its value and putting the institution on more sound foundation. The Hospital is registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. It is complying with the Scheme framed by the State Government for indigent persons and persons belonging to weaker sections of the people. It has been actively involved in social outreach and has been donating equipments to many NGOs in Mumbai and also in the interior regions of Maharashtra. It is also conducting health camps from time to time in wide ranging fields of health and wellness. The Hospital is having exemption certificate u/s 80G of I.T. Act entitling the donors to avail of the tax benefits. It is also registered with educational institutions (DNB and others) to impart medical education for higher studies and is benefited from the brilliant students it attracts in its fold. The Hospital prides itself for having signed a Pledge with Council of Fair Business Practices (CFBP) jointly with the Rotary Club in the year 2011 for committing to follow the prescribed ethical rules of healthcare practices. The hospital is having its own internal code of conduct in all the areas of its operations.
