Neck tension, strain & pain has become so commonplace today, it's not a joke & it certainly isn't funny."A pain in the neck" is a phrase no one is unfamiliar with & it's scary.

Undoubtedly, the reason for this "new-age epidemic" is the Omnipotent,Omnipresent & Omniscient Mobile phone.

I think it's high time we took cognisance of this fact & take corrective action
if we don't want to see ourselves greeting each other in neck collars!

Call me today if you would like a customised workshop/training on yogic solutions for tackling these new age monsters!

Sa tu dīrghakālanairantaryasatkārāsevito drdhabhumihi
-Yoga Sūtra I:14

This is a lovely management Sūtra from Master Patañjali. It affirms that to become good at anything requires practice & that practice only becomes perfect through devoted, sincere, long & continuous repetition. This sounds most obvious but, with all sorts of distractions vying for our attention & "multi-tasking" being considered as an extremely desirable quality,it certainly requires much dedicated awareness to follow.

In his book,First Things First.Dr.Stephen Covey divides the activities that we do into 4 quadrants:-
1.Urgent & Important
2.Not Urgent but important
3.Urgent but not important
4.Not urgent & not important

What quadrants are you working out of?Which quadrant do you think Patañjali's above principle applies to?

YOGA-What does this word mean to us?Many times I have been asked-So,how many hours do you do yoga? The very question exposes what yoga means to a lot of people i.e.mostly āsana &,perhaps,a little of prānāyāma.

My answer, depending on the availability of time...& the appropriateness of situation, place, person, etc. may vary.Often I need to clarify that an āsana &/or prānāyāma session may last for 30 or 60 or 90 minutes(again depends on factors mentioned above).Woe betide me if I mention that some days even that does not happen!!!

Look at the list in this picture. It gives us a better picture of what Yoga is.Surprisingly, āsana does not feature on this list!!!

If we carefully go through the list we realise how each item mentioned is so precious. Each one worth contemplating, meditating upon & putting into practice.& these can even be applicable in our āsana practice. In fact, these are the practices and virtues that can be practiced day in & day out....24x7.This is what makes up yoga. This is what Yoga is!

See what resonates most with you in this list.See also what doesn't.& then, perhaps, you may like to explore both of these on a deeper level.Because what doesn't resonate may be something that we most need to work on!

&,if you feel like, you may share any insights you have for the benefit of all of us😊

Introducing one-on-one classes,both in-person & online,as per your convenience.

When it comes to focussed learning, there's nothing to beat the individual attention that a one-on-one class offers. The classes are structured keeping in mind various factors & needs like strength, mobility, flexibility & enthusiasm of the student.Specific therapeutic needs can also be addressed.Lastly, the practice,in alignment with our motto, should ultimately lead to living more joyfully & peacefully,in harmony within & with the external world.

Call us if this seems to be of interest to you.You can reach Sudarshan on 9820150262.
