Central serous retinopathy - A condition characterised by accumulation of fluid between the main sensory layers and the supportive layer of the retina. Commonly affecting young or middle aged individuals. Risk factors include psychological stress, type A personality, steroid intake. The condition resolves spontaneously in most patients.
This 26 year old male presented with sudden onset decrease in contrast sensitivity in the left eye for the past two days. Best corrected vision in both eyes was 6/6 with left eye showing marked decrease in contrast sensitivity. Amserls ( left eye) didn't show any distortion or metamorphosia but a decresed contrast sensitivity in the left eye. Oct images attached below demonstrating Central serous retinopathy.
