Central serous retinopathy - A condition characterised by accumulation of fluid between the main sensory layers and the supportive layer of the retina. Commonly affecting young or middle aged individuals. Risk factors include psychological stress, type A personality, steroid intake. The condition resolves spontaneously in most patients.
This 26 year old male presented with sudden onset decrease in contrast sensitivity in the left eye for the past two days. Best corrected vision in both eyes was 6/6 with left eye showing marked decrease in contrast sensitivity. Amserls ( left eye) didn't show any distortion or metamorphosia but a decresed contrast sensitivity in the left eye. Oct images attached below demonstrating Central serous retinopathy.

6th - 12 th March is celebrated as World Glaucoma Week every year to increase awareness regarding Glaucoma. Glaucoma is rightly called a Silent threat to vision. The subtle vision loss due to glaucoma in early stages is not perceived by the patient. The patient notices the profound diminision of vision only during later stages. More so the vision loss due to glaucoma is irreversible. It is therefore imperative to diagnose the disease at early stage to prevent further damage.
