Comment below how many of you agree to this.

Trust me guys these are pointers that would help you to maintain a healthy lifestyle and not just fads.

Balanced diet when we say is all about eating the right foods at the right time in the right proportion and not just eliminating a meal or any food group from the diet.

Secondly, elevate your heart rate for atleast 45 to 60 mins a day 4 to 5 times a week.

For those who have desk jobs, take those breaks from your chair. Get up to get a glass of water every 30 to 40 mins, walk when on the phone and stretch timely.

Don't forget to drink water. And stay away from aerated and sugar laden drinks be it fresh juices, canned etc.

Let's talk OATS

This superfood is really a warehouse of Nutrients.

It's gluten free, low in calories, high on Fibre, vitamins and minerals, so it makes it a complete super food.

Can be relished in a number of ways by everyone including weight watchers, Diabetics, people with high cholesterol or blood pressure etc.

Powdered or ground oats also serves as a very good replacement for your cornstarch. So use it to thicken your soups, gravies as well as to make your White sauce for pasta.

Granny made to Ready made.

Blessed to see this tradition being passed on in today's age of using ready made masalas and packaged paste to make curries and sambar.

Trust me the aroma and freshness of sun dried and freshly ground masalas is something else.

A lot of people have this confusion if soaking nuts is essential or no.
My answer is yes ! It is beneficial to soak your almonds and even walnuts and have them early in the morning without peeling the skin.
Soaking nuts is essential for proper digestions. ... By soaking, you are breaking down the phytic acid so it can be absorbed properly. Nuts also have high amounts of enzymes inhibitors which are deactivated by soaking them in water.
So do remember this tip and have a safe gut and good nutrient absorption.

Winter is the season of merrymaking and festivity, and the eating habits go for a toss. All mouth tempting dishes are available around New Year. The parathas and samosas will always tempt you.

But sadly, these tempting food items can also make you lethargic. So one needs to have control and not eat these mouth-watering food items. Therefore, one should watch for healthy options, no matter what occasion it is.

Here is how you can be healthy this winter season.

Say good morning to lemon water: The best way to kick start a morning is to have a glass full of warm water with lemon juice. Drinking this lemon water helps you detox & speed up your body metabolism.

The king-size breakfast: As we all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. There are many healthy options like home made stuffed paratha, steamed idlis, dhoklas, masala oats, eggs etc.

Healthy lunch and dinner: The best healthy option for lunch and dinner is to have roti (jowar/Bajra/makka flour etc) with seasonal colourful vegetables (red carrots, fresh peas, bathua, methi, spinach and many more) and raita/curds. For non-vegetarian foodies, one can have roasted chicken, salmon, etc. The salad is a must that should be added which helps you to digest the food quickly.

Sweet dishes: Everyone knows sweet dishes prepared in the winter season are the best treat to the soul. You can have sooji halwa, moong dal halwa, aate ka halwa, badam ka halwa, carrot halwa and chana dal halwa once or twice in a week. (One can relish these for breakfast as well instead)

Snacks: One can have different types of soups made with tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, beans etc. Another option is to have a sprouted chaat.

Winter season gives us much more options than any other season with carrot, cauliflower, cabbage, beetroot, oranges, strawberries etc. So let's make the most of our health this winter season.

The first impression that appears on our minds when speaking of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, is a lean, emaciated figure, weak from weeks of fasting in an attempt to end British Raj in India. Although Gandhi did push himself to physical extremes to enact political change, health records claim that he led an unbelievably healthy life because of his active lifestyle and diet.
As the nation celebrates Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary on October 2 this year, let us all take some valuable health tips from his life cycle.

1. Watch what your are eating.
2. Be an early bird
3. Fasting promotes good health
4. Avoid alcohol and to***co
5. Walk some kilometers
6. Practice meditation
7. Think positive
8. Be compassionate.

This Gandhi Jayanti, we all should embrace his preaching not just in the field of politics, economy and humanity, but also in the aspects of health, and try to incorporate these health tips from his life span.
