Winter is the season of merrymaking and festivity, and the eating habits go for a toss. All mouth tempting dishes are available around New Year. The parathas and samosas will always tempt you.
But sadly, these tempting food items can also make you lethargic. So one needs to have control and not eat these mouth-watering food items. Therefore, one should watch for healthy options, no matter what occasion it is.
Here is how you can be healthy this winter season.
Say good morning to lemon water: The best way to kick start a morning is to have a glass full of warm water with lemon juice. Drinking this lemon water helps you detox & speed up your body metabolism.
The king-size breakfast: As we all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. There are many healthy options like home made stuffed paratha, steamed idlis, dhoklas, masala oats, eggs etc.
Healthy lunch and dinner: The best healthy option for lunch and dinner is to have roti (jowar/Bajra/makka flour etc) with seasonal colourful vegetables (red carrots, fresh peas, bathua, methi, spinach and many more) and raita/curds. For non-vegetarian foodies, one can have roasted chicken, salmon, etc. The salad is a must that should be added which helps you to digest the food quickly.
Sweet dishes: Everyone knows sweet dishes prepared in the winter season are the best treat to the soul. You can have sooji halwa, moong dal halwa, aate ka halwa, badam ka halwa, carrot halwa and chana dal halwa once or twice in a week. (One can relish these for breakfast as well instead)
Snacks: One can have different types of soups made with tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, beans etc. Another option is to have a sprouted chaat.
Winter season gives us much more options than any other season with carrot, cauliflower, cabbage, beetroot, oranges, strawberries etc. So let's make the most of our health this winter season.
