How people try to make fun of our belief system, but lose at last.
One afternoon, I received a msg on web.
then this happened......
Peter: "Iena Chandanraj Attar? I’ve seen the listing. Tell me, what is the point of this oil? Does it actually do anything for spirituality?
Me: "It is more than scent. When applied with intention, it creates an aura around the seeker. It settles the mind for deeper work."
Peter: (With a digital smirk) "An 'aura'? Let’s be serious. Is that a scientific measurement or just a fancy word for 'I smell like a tree'? What is an aura, anyway? Is it supposed to be a glowing shield?"
Me: "Think of it as the climate of your soul. Just as a storm makes you shiver and the sun makes you bloom, this attar shifts your internal weather. It clears the static so you can hear your own spirit."
Peter: "Right. Very poetic. You also mentioned it’s used in 'Pooja.' Tell me—does this oil perform magic tricks? Does the bottle fly? And while you’re at it, what even is a 'Pooja' besides a loud ceremony?"
I was paused. He didn't type back immediately. He let the silence hang in the chat—a digital "quiet" to match the stillness of the sandalwood itself.
Me: "Magic? No. It doesn't turn lead into gold. But it turns a distracted mind into a focused one. A Pooja is not just a ritual; it is an appointment with the Divine. It is a moment where you stop being a consumer and start being a soul. We use the Chandanraj attar because the sandalwood tree gives its fragrance even to the axe that cuts it. It teaches us forgiveness and purity during our prayers. If that isn't magic, what is?"
There was a long silence. The "typing..." bubble appeared and disappeared several times. The mockery had run out of fuel.
Peter: "The tree that perfumes the axe... I hadn't thought of it like that."
Me: "The scent doesn't change the world, it changes you. And when you change, the world looks different."
Peter: "I think... I’ve been looking for a bit of that quiet. I apologize for my tone earlier. I’d like to try it. Actually, send me five bottles. I have brothers who could use a bit of this 'internal weather' shift you mentioned."
