🏁And we flag off our first Team learning session for the Autism acceptance and OT month !

❣️The first of the firsts was on the topic " Nothing about them without them " , conducted by our founder Dr. Kinjal Chandra was something worth listening to.

🧐🤔It gave all of us a deeper insight into neurodiversity and the recent advances and evidence based practices that should be followed when taking therapy sessions irrespective of your capacity of a OT, speech therapist , remedial educator or any other faculty !

🥳🤩It was indeed an eye opener and something that shifted our mindset and added newer tools to our kit as therapists working with neurodiverse children !

It was an honor to be invited as a guest speaker at 21st Post Graduate convention of Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry " PEDOSOCH 2025" .

It was a privilege to address such a beautiful bunch of Pediatric Dentists who impact children's oral health irrespective of the diagnosis !

It was such a beautiful exchange of humongous information happening at the convention between budding and experienced dental practitioners !

Grateful to be able to contribute by bit to it !

Thank you to the organising members of Team PedoSoch and Terna Dental College for giving me this platform !

📰I am beyond honoured to be featuring in "ALCHEMY" - the Magazine of my alma mater D.Y . Patil School of Occupational Therapy !

🧑‍🎓From being a student there , to being the editor of a similar student magazine in D.Y Patil college during my student days to today my interview being covered there ...

🏆It's a huge huge huge pat on my back and nothing less then witnessing life comin back in a circle !

💗This just fuels my fire within to keep striving hard towards my work , towards the tiny lives that I touch being a Pediatric OT overcoming whatever challenges life throws at me !

😊🎙️Beyond honoured as our founder Dr. Kinjal Chandra, was invited as a guest speaker at "PedoVista" by Terna Dental College , a national level scientific conference and share stage with some exceptional speakers !

🧑‍🎓Many post graduate students pursuing MDS in pediatrics attended it and participated enthusiastically ...

🗣️It was amazing to hear some insightful sessions by other esteemed speakers as well !

❤️Our heart fills with so much love and gratitude to see professionals like Dentists and Occupational Therapists coming together , learning from each other with the central goal of helping the child in need for services in the most ethical and inclusive way possible !

🤔Double empathy is a phenomenon that we experience each time we interact with someone with neurodiverse needs ....

✅This not only needs to be understood by parents and caregivers but also by professional, teachers and society at large !

🌄This gives us a newer and different perspective to look at people with neurodiversity !

🫂It really is a two way street , where both the parties are struggling equally and hence equally work to understand and support each other better !

🗣️Do share it with others and help us reach out to more people , educate them , and equip them with the right knowledge and resources for our neurodiverse friends !

🤔How often have you seen your child flap hands , jump , spin and humm songs and wondered why is he doing this ?

🤔Have to thought what can be done about it ?

😊But did you know it is called "Stimming " and it's needed for your child for a variety of reasons ?

👀Well to understand this better ...let's watch this amazing video ...

✅Hope it strikes a cord and helped you look at Stimming from a place of understanding and acceptance ...

👩‍⚕️Well there was ways to help your child if he/ she stims excessively....speak to your occupational therapist about it and they will be able to guide you further !

☺️This concept is called neurodiversity !
Neuro - brain
Diversity - difference .

Conditions like Autism , ADHD , Learning Disability , Tourette's syndrome, OCD, etc are all neurodiverse brains !

🎊But this exact thing makes each of us special and important in our own unique ways !
