NEUROSURGERY CASE FILES

Sharing this interesting case of deep seated right thalamic glioma done by me.

Conventionally these tumors are approached by a transcortical approach through superior parietal lobule thus disturbing the normal brain parenchyma to reach the tumour.

I did an occipital interhemispheric, subsplenial approach to this tumour which helped me reach the tumour directly and save the normal brain tissue.

Although the tumour is a glioma grade 4, normal brain tissue preservation and near total excision of the tumour achieved will help the patient lead a good quality of life.
