This patient presented with inability to walk along with quadriparesis due to spinal cord compression in cervical spine and lumbar canal stenosis. A surgery to decompress both the areas of the spine was performed which allowed him to start walking and brought him back to normal. Am extremely happy to receive his feedback 😊🙏🏻!

When nerves in the spine get compressed, it can lead to severe back pain, leg pain, numbness, or weakness. Many patients experience sharp, radiating pain down the leg, often called sciatica.

Spinal decompression surgery is designed to gently relieve the pressure on these nerves. By freeing the compressed nerves, it helps restore better blood supply to them, reduces pain, and allows patients to move more comfortably.

For the right patient, this procedure can significantly improve mobility, reduce leg pain, and help them return to a better quality of life.

Understanding the problem and treating it at the right time can make a big difference.

Micro Lumbar Discectomy can be a rewarding surgery for patients with lumbar disc herniation. This patient was suffering from back pain due to disc prolapse for more than two years. All other forms of treatment did not give her relief. Finally, she came to me for surgery and this is the great feedback that she has given. Happy to help out all people and make a difference to their lives.

A 65-year-old lady came to us with persistent back pain along with weakness in both her legs. These symptoms were affecting her ability to walk and carry out daily activities.

After a detailed evaluation and MRI scan, we discovered a spinal tumour that was pressing on the nerves in her spine and causing these symptoms.

A surgery to remove the tumour and relieve the pressure on the spinal cord and nerves is performed. The goal of the surgery is to reduce pain, improve strength in the legs, and help her regain mobility.

This case is a reminder that persistent back pain associated with weakness or difficulty walking should never be ignored. Early diagnosis and timely treatment can make a significant difference.

Not every change seen on an MRI needs treatment.

Many MRI reports mention findings like disc bulges, degeneration, or small protrusions. These changes are very common and are often part of the natural ageing process of the spine. In many people, they do not cause symptoms and do not require any active intervention.

Treatment decisions should always be based on the patient’s symptoms and clinical examination, not just the MRI report.

Remember: treat the patient, not just the scan.

Back pain is common. Ignoring warning signs shouldn’t be.

In this interview with Dr. Pooja Singh, Physiotherapist, we discuss when pain should not be taken lightly and how timely assessment by a Spine Surgeon can prevent long-term complications.

Persistent pain, pain radiating to the arms or legs, numbness, weakness, difficulty walking, or loss of bladder and bowel control are red flags that need proper evaluation.

Early diagnosis leads to better outcomes — and not every spine problem requires surgery. The key is accurate assessment and the right treatment at the right time.

Listen to your body. If the pain persists, get it checked.

This patient presented with severe lower back pain radiating to the leg due to a lumbar disc herniation (commonly called a slipped disc).

Despite medications and conservative treatment, the pain persisted and started affecting daily activities. After proper evaluation and imaging, we have planned a Micro Lumbar Discectomy — a minimally invasive procedure aimed at relieving nerve compression by removing the offending disc fragment.

The goal is simple: relieve pain, restore function, and help the patient return to normal life as early as possible.

Timely intervention in the right patient can make a dramatic difference.

Lumbar canal stenosis is a common cause of back and leg pain, especially as we age.

In this short interview with Dr. Pooja Singh (Physiotherapist), we discuss what lumbar canal stenosis actually means, why it happens, the typical symptoms like leg pain while walking, numbness, or weakness, and the treatment options available — from physiotherapy and medications to minimally invasive surgical solutions when required.

Early diagnosis and the right guidance can significantly improve quality of life.

If you or someone you know is experiencing persistent back and leg pain while walking, don’t ignore it. Proper evaluation makes all the difference.
